Blackbush Beach Resort

"We had a great one night stay at Blackbush Resort. It started with driving up to the property and its wonderful location right near the shore. A great greeting at the front desk and some help from Lamar who was bartending but noticed it was raining and ran outside to bring an umbrella as we were unloading our bags. A large gorgeous room - with views! We noticed the heated bathroom floor and we were impressed. The hot tubs outside were wonderful. The didn’t dine here but there is an in-house restaurant that had a set menu for evening and what looked like a sport bar type restaurant a block away that was open until 9. We had dinner plans elsewhere but would babe checked it out. You can see the ocean from many angles of the property, and the beach is a few minutes walk away. Wish we had stayed at least one more night really explore the area."

"Nous n'avons pas rencontré le propriétaire mais les communications étaient faciles et fluides. Le logement était une belle découverte. La chambre était charmante. Il y avait un micro-onde, une bouilloire et de quoi se faire un café et un thé. Il y avait de vraies cuillères et non en plastique, ce qui est très agréable. Bravo pour cela. En arrivant le soir, si vous avez faim, il y a un restaurant de cuisine asiatique qui doit être tenu par le même propriétaire. L'endroit est calme et bien entretenu même s'il faudrait penser à refaire la baignoire car cela doit être un bain à remou mais ce n'est pas très bien entretenu. Pour le reste, rien à redire. Il y a même une terrasse avec une petite table et 2 petites chaises mais sans anti-moustique c'est impossible d'y rester."

"We stayed in the "family cabin" and it was exactly as described. 3 bedrooms, 2 washrooms. Check in was incredibly easy with just a simple text or phone call. The owner even gave me a 10% discount"

"Was a lovely stay. The island itself was great. The beds were uncomfortable and some were even broken so you sunk in the middle. There were 4 ladies staying so the toilet paper they gave us was like rationing us (we had to ask a couple times and was given 2 small rolls) so we bought our own. Other than that, it was a good stay."

"Dalvay has all the old world charm imaginable, great staff - Alexandra, Emily and Sarah were standouts. But that charm could benefit from some serious improvements, especially as relates to food service - an unchanging, very limited and robust (not friendly to lighter appetites); the same applies to breakfast - limited and emormous servings. No fruit bowl, upcharges if you just want a bagel, juice only if you ask for it. Since Dalvay is in a national park, you must drive miles to find other, more varied food options - and nothing nearby for breakfast. So you end up being hostage to their restaurant. They might consider offering a light bite dinner and/especially breakfast. Also, why not offer boxed lunches to their visitors?"
