A Truly Exceptional Stay
One of the best hotels we've ever experienced. From the unbeatable location to the impeccable service, every detail was thoughtfully curated. The food was outstanding, the atmosphere warm and inviting, and the overall vibe made our stay nothing short of perfect. We left feeling relaxed, pampered, and already dreaming of our next visit.
The girl at reception was very friendly and helpful. She took us to our room and was clearly proud of the hotel and what it offered. The hotel construction, furnishings and décor reminded us of stays we have had in castles and manors. Warm and inviting rooms, and the amenities were like those provided by much more expensive hotels. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this property to others.
Hotel Kaiservilla was the best place we stayed on our trip in the Alps. The staff was very kind and welcoming, breakfast was exceptional, and we felt right at home. We would go again!
Hotel Sonne is a comfortable hotel right in the center of Lienz, a quick walk from the train and bus stations. The interior of the building itself is definitely dated and a bit austere, but that really didn’t impact my stay. My room was comfortable and had a fantastic view of the mountains. The breakfast options were great, and I appreciated that breakfast itself started at 6:00 (I’m an early riser). The staff were friendly and accommodating. I didn’t have time to try the sauna or the gym, but...
Very nice place to stay in the middle of the beautiful Alps. Our 2 bedroom apartment was really spacious with a large living room and bathroom, that contains a small sauna. That's was really good experience. Apartment has a full kitchen including dishwasher and oven, that would be very useful for longer stay. And the view no doubts is wonderful. Hotel staff was really nice and welcoming.
Breakfast was included. Not a very large choice, but for such a small hotel it was quite good.
I would stay here again and again. It was a beautiful hotel. The owner and his wife built it themselves and the attention to detail in the rooms was astounding!!!! Breakfast was delicious and you cannot beat the backdrop. Highly recommend.
The suite contained separate bedroom, kitchen/living area w fireplace, bathroom w sauna, and water closet. The living and bedrooms each had a bay window overlooking the town of Matrei in Osttirol, charming is an understatement. The restaurant served probably one of the best steaks I ever had in Europe and the staff were all very friendly and helpful to us American travelers. Our only regret was not staying more than one night.
