Excellent location and easy to walk to Kagoshima Chuo Station and other areas of interest. Very close to airport shuttle bus stop - about a 5 minute walk. Walk to major shopping district and restaurants galore. Very nice hotel staff and great breakfast - only wish they offered fresh fruit with breakfast. The single rooms are super small by American standards. The bathroom feels like you’re in a RV. The room has everything one needs, even a multi charging station for your electronic devices.

I have traveled and worked in Japan for 10 years. This hotel onsen is the finest I have visited. The baths are located in your room, in common areas and in private family baths. There is a very special bath just steps away from the hotel below a WATERFALL, that can only be described as HEAVEN ON EARTH. I will return for another week at this hotel in April. Thank you Expedia for leading me to this magnificent destination.

We had an excellent stay at Kirishima Kokusai Hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Kirishima area. We stayed in a Premier Deluxe Japanese-Western Style Room (Yukemuri View), which was exceptional and very spacious, with a beautiful outdoor lanai and a fantastic view out toward Sakurajima Island. No wonder my friend said we had to stay at the Shiroyama on learning we are going to Kagoshima. The hotel is like the Tokyo Imperial Hotel and more transported to this location on top of a hill, facing the Sakurajima volcano, which one can stare at while bathing in the open air mineral waters at the onsen/spa.
