This is a convert old property, it is very unique and the walls are basically bookcases with a lot of books. The only issue we have is that there is no elevator since this is a very old house and we have to carry our heavy luggage up to the second floor. The breakfast was good. You go to Obidos to see old historical stuff and this place gives you the vibes of it. This place is located right outside the castle wall, and we had problem finding parking near the property.
Beautiful Portuguese Casa with lovely garden, pool, and breakfast/rec room. Amazing collections of various items on display everywhere you look. The hostess. Ari, was wonderful and so very helpful. The room was very clean, quiet, and comfortable. Rio Maior is only an hour or so from Lisbon and so much more relaxing to stay and enjoy the surrounding sites. Would definitely recommend Casa do Foral. They pay attention to details and will make your stay so very enjoyable.

Pros: Very charming and full of character, right inside the upper gate of the castle at the top of the village. Parking available in the free lot at the castle which is 2 min walk to hotel and eliminates the need for a stressful drive into the village or a long walk from the public lot outside the lower gate. Helpful staff.
The host, Jaoa, made our stay unforgettable. He shared personal stories with us and hoped me would make meaningful memories. Our stay on NYE will not be forgotten. He provided us with home-made cookies.home made
Took the bus from Lisbon to Obidos and was able to walk up the hill directly to the hotel from the bus stop. It wasn't obvious at first and I had to walk along the side of the road without a sidewalk but it was less than a 5 - 10 minute walk from the main gate to historic Obidos to the hotel. They were friendly and the hotel was very clean and comfortable.
I thoroughly enjoyed my two night stay at Rainha Santa Isabel Hotel or The Obidos History Hotel. It was right in the historic district yet very close to where you can catch the bus to other locations. The owners were exceptionally gracious, and I enjoyed the included breakfast very much. The view from my window was wonderful. When I look to the left, I could see the castle, and when I look to the right, I could see other historic buildings.
Such a charming spot. Room was tiny so I wouldn’t probably stay here for a long time but all of the staff was super helpful and lovely. The location can’t be beat - just steps from a lovely beach. Water was warmer than other places.
The property is just a short walk to the beach. There are restaurants, bakeries and a laundromat all within walking distance from the hotel. It has a beautiful pool. The room was spacious, clean and modern. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable, the best sleep I have had in Portugal. The staff at the hotel were all very nice and accommodating. I can honestly say they took very good care of us. If we were ever to return to Nazare this is the only hotel we would ever consider staying at....
