Excellent experience, overall. The hotel is gorgeous and the ocean views are unbeatable. The property is very well taken care of and the staff were awesome—very friendly and accommodating. Ribeira Grande is a bit remote from Central Ponta Delgada, but everything is far away around the island anyway. A rental car is a must in São Miguel and having a car will make your experience more enjoyable all around.

Excellent hotel, first the location is just a stones throw away from the city square where there are many cafes, a supermarket, not too far from the marina and the airport is less than a 10mjn drive away. The ambience, from the lobby to the spa floor, to the zen garden is all quite lovely. The staff is friendly and accommodating. We had a wonderful, spotless room with a private, modern bathroom and a private balcony overlooking the ocean. Beautiful! Although we had a late arrival (after 10:00 pm), Luisa stayed up for us and helped us to our room. She welcomed us and then walked us to a nearby restaurant, since we hadn’t eaten since breakfast, and joined us for a bite to eat. Really! After 10:00 pm! Luisa was very helpful throughout our week long stay. She directed us to a small grocery, gave restaurant recommendations...

This is our favorite hotel on San Miguel Island, we would never consider staying anywhere else. The location is perfect, out the door to the beach, shopping and the center of it all. I must say that the included breakfast continues to amaze and I only worry about overeating. The quality of the food is excellent and there is staff to ensure all needs are met. As for the staff, hotel management is doing something right as this is by far the best staff we have come across throughout Portugal,...
