The design is fantastic, the bed comfy and the sťaff diligent, courteous and quick on their feet. Bed was comfy and sheets were nice quality. The food was also delicious. Easy to get a cab to go anywhere and it is near really nice, artsy cafes and galleries.

We opted for three nights here after 2 nights at a 5-star in old town Yogyakarta and were delighted the contrast. This was quiet and more personable. The "in-village" experience was pleasant, never obtrusive. Security and comfort were good. Though much was written in other reviews about the noise from the mosques nearby, they did not bother us at all - it was actually a nice sampling of one part of life for most Indonesians and not disturbing of our rest. We were always greeted warmly by the staff, who aimed to please and provided great communication. The room was impeccably clean and the breakfasts were excellent - with a wonderful variety of food. We appreciated the location, which was walkable to Malioboro St. We didn't use the spa, but the pool with the city view was a welcome relief from the heat.
