This hotel is in a great location. It is within walking distance to Tintagel Castle (Gallos Statue & Merlin's Cave). The hotel experience was great; I received a warm welcome when I checked in at the restaurant/pub up front and they walked me to my room. The room was large and impeccably clean. The bathroom was not in or directly attached to the room, but it was my use only and they provided robes for traversing the 3 feet of hallway between doors. The restaurant/pub had a vast assortment...
We had an enjoyable 5-night stay at the Port Gaverne Hotel. The service was excellent and the food was very good. We enjoyed the variety of offerings at breakfast and the Sunday Roast. This is not "pub food."
This is an old hotel and be advised that the rooms are small and up steep stairs, although the staff helped with luggage. We were there during a heat wave and there is no air conditioning, which is typically not needed. The bed was comfortable and the bedding lovely.
The location...
The check in was easy, they even stored my suitcase for a few hours when I arrived early. The room was so very nice with a great view of the harbour. The dinner and breakfast I had at the restaurant were delicious. Best location in town. Beautiful place to visit.
One night stay to visit Port Isaac (setting for Doc Martin).
Excellent hotel/room.
Excellent owner/staff, very accommodating and helpful, organised evening dinner at nearby pub.
Also advised us to visit Boscastle before returning to Gatwick,we did and found it to be a "treasure", excellent seaside fishing village. (better than Port Isaac!)
Amazing hotel, quality of the room was exceptional, we ate in the Chapel restaurant and found the food to be lovely. Would definitely recommend this gem of a hotel. Sadly we saw no ghosts.
The hotel is in a great spot with beautiful views around the property. The staff is all very friendly and helpful. Joseph and Holly, in particular, were very pleasant, helpful, and interesting to talk with.
