"Nice enough place with good clean rooms and a pleasant staff. Nature obscured our view of the river. Nicely situated within easy walking distance of central York. Breakfast was very disappointing as it consisted of plain croissants and machine coffee."

"Very nice hotel not far from Coppergate, room was very spacious and had a walk in shower which was a bonus. Breakfast was very good too and there was a nice selection"

"Lovely stay, location was ideal for us being close to family and the venue of our event. The entrance was clean and tidy and the welcome by staff was great, The room itself was a little tired (mainly the bathroom) but everything worked well. A fridge in the room would have been nice. Our cleaner Lisa, although we didn’t meet her, always left our room lovely, replacing the towels and resetting the room perfectly. A big thank you to her for finding my husband’s watch our daughter hid. Standout service so thank you. The pool was lovely, lessons were going on but didn’t interfere with our leisure time. Again the changing rooms a little tired but no issues with them. Husband said the gym was good so I’ll take his word for that. Would have been better if this facility opened slightly earlier on the weekend for convenience but we also visited in the afternoon too. There was a couple of weddings going on for our second night but was pleasantly surprised we weren’t disturbed by the music or wedding guests. Would return to the hotel, good value for money."

"Stayed 2 nights room was clean; staff were friendly. City centre 15 min walk. Shame about noise on 2nd night from unthoughtful guests in room next door. As unstaffed early in morning a good idea for early checkouts would be to have a box to put keys in. Had to leave mine in the room."

"We've stayed at the Pavilion several times now, and it's always a good experience. Useful to get to the Barbican centre, and into York without it being noisy or characterless. Instead it is full of character, and peaceful, a well restored building, and a lovely ambience. I love the gentle jazzy music over breakfast. Staff are always helpful, particularly in managing my allergies."
