Room was very clean, comfortable bed. Nice bathroom with great water pressure. I enjoyed my stay. I was there two nights for business and the location was fine.
Other reviews had some negative remarks about it being noisy, old and such, therefore I had some reservations prior to our arrival, however, I was pleasantly surprised. The establishment is an older building and with this comes thin walls, outdated fixtures and other bits but overall it was a comfortable stay. The building had a wonderful charm and had a pub on one side that became lively in the evening and yes, cause some noise but being from the city, nothing that would cause me not to be able...
The hosts and property were delightful. However, I did not have a vehicle and the property is not convenient if you need to be in Lewes or Brighton as there is limited - no - public transportation and it is not within walking distance. Carol went above and beyond in carting me to Lewes each day!
We were stranded because of the airport shutdown and I booked the hotel without my normal thorough review… and I got very lucky.

-Location is far away from Brighton Beach shopping and sights (but if you aren’t afraid of public transport, a 30 minute bus ride will get you there easily)

We had an excellent stay at The Grand Brighton and found the room, restaurant, bar, and staff services to be exceptional. The location was fabulous offering convenient access to surrounding areas and a gorgeous view of the ocean. On the last night of our stay, the battery on our keypad failed (along with a few other rooms), and we were not able to get into our room for several hours. The location near the sea & pier was excellent. The staff were wonderfully helpful and friendly. Felt like family. Bathroom is a bit small, but that's to be expected so not an issue. Breakfast buffet was great, one of the best at any small hotel we've stayed.
