Sweet hotel with pub in the middle of Alton. Very convenient location and very cozy, comfortable room. Staff was great. We had dinner and food was top notch. We were there during the intense heat wave and there was no air conditioning, but I don’t think there is any in the village. Staff was accommodating with fans.

The hotel was great! Very nice place, nice rooms. Bathrooms were all updated despite the inn being 500 years old. Beds were comfortable, there was enough space for our family of 4 in the family room. Very neat old building with the huge old wood beams. Innkeepers were very welcoming. Inn itself was quiet, but we had a little noise from the street as our windows were open and they were right about the entrance to the pub downstairs, so we would hear conversations of those coming and going from...
Our 16 night stay here in Jun/Jul of 2015 redefined the meaning of hospitality for us. From the manager on down, the service was superb: Zyta and Natalie are superstars! No request was too small or too big, and we were made to feel like family. Rooms were comfy and quaint, decorated in true British county inn style. Restaurant food was delicious and so was the wood fired pizza in the gardens. The full English breakfast every morning was excellent. Words can’t describe how much we enjoyed our...
We stayed at this handy place for a few nights. The room was very cozy with very comfy matraces. Drinking morning coffee on a little back terrace, having excellent steaks and wide breakfast choice was all a great experience.
The staff were outstanding. The owners, Pat and Lyn, were the friendliest pub landlord and landlady in Britain. Ruby was a fantastic host and Andy was incredibly charming. The bar itself was beautifully constructed and thye home made Steak and Ale pie was the best meal I've ever had. The home made chili was next level perfection.
