I stayed in one of the geodesic domes, which are behind the main lodge. There are 7 domes that share 3 bathrooms, which are in a different building. You receive a key upon check-in to unlock one of 3 doors to a private bath (sink, toilet, and shower). I was a little worried about having access to a bathroom given all 7 domes were rented during my stay and only 2 of the 3 bathrooms were usable...but never had to wait. The two things the bathrooms need are a mirror and additional wall hooks....
The hotel was well maintained and clean. The room was big, had a small fridge, microwave. The breakfast was very nice a lot of options and everything was fresh and plentiful. Will stay agin when we come back to town.
This felt like a bed and breakfast. We had a huge and quiet bedroom with a private bath. There was a large eating area and a large family room area adjacent to one another. A small creek flowed on the back side of the property which could be seen and heard from the back patio. Breakfast was home cooked and great. We didn't have time to explore Cuchara but enjoyed the little time we stayed at Dodgeton Creek Inn.
Modern and clean facility. Nice well stocked breakfast buffet. Friendly and helpful staff. Was given lead on how to obtain solar eclipse eyeglasses which worked out. Convenient to restaurants. 30 miles from Great Sand Dunes National Park entrance, but that was not an issue.
Beautiful location, near the Great Sand Dunes and wonderful star gazing. The staff were family and supportive. The tent we stayed in was wonderful. The shared bathrooms and were clean and the staff did an excellent job of attending to any consistent clean up. Campers should be prepared for cooler nights but overall a great experience.
We were delighted to find such a quaint and comfortable motel in such an isolated area. The Southwestern decor is perfect for locale, yet it has those little extra amenities in the suites like a Jacuzzi tub, full-size refrigerator and stove, and a sitting room that includes a wonderfully quaint and unusual Southwest wooden chairs that make you feel like a king when you sit in it. The proprietors are very relaxed laid-back so you don’t worry about precise check out times and they accommodated...
