Dalhousie Castle is the ideal place if you're looking to stay in a castle in the Edinburgh area. It's about a 20 minute taxi ride from the city center which is just far enough to be out in the peaceful Scottish countryside. The castle itself is absolutely beautiful, and sits on grounds that are equally so, with archery, falconry, and several great walking paths.
The staff at the hotel were extremely nice and accommodating - we were even greeted by a nice gentleman in full Scottish garb who...
While it was bizarre being above a shopping mall, the hotel was great. We stayed in a mobility-accessible room which was filled with thoughtful design choices. Loved having the kitchenette, too.
An exquisite boutique hotel just a short walk to the center of the city. Staff is amazing. Decor is fabulous. I loved loved loved this hotel. And it is reasonable.
We stayed at The Raeburn for one night on a recent trip to Edinburgh but wish we could have stayed a few more! The room was huge with lovely woodwork and a marble bathroom (the fixtures were top-notch with a huge tub, huge shower, double sink, and towel warmer). Our king-sized bed was very comfortable and there was also a large flat-screen TV. The elevator made it easy to get to our room and there was parking on-site. The staff was friendly and helpful. They gave us champagne to help us...
This is one of the best hotels I've stayed in the UK (and I've been staying at quite a few 5 star hotels). The staff was professional, friendly, and accomodating. They def pay attention to details and ensure we have the best experience. Even provided me some of the best local recs and I was quite impressed (and this is coming from a foodie like me)
This is a beautiful hotel in a perfect location. I stayed here last May and loved it so much I returned last week. The old town of Edinburgh is a short walk away, while the hotel, itself, is on the edge of the new town with many great shops, pubs and restaurants from which to choose. The staff is very friendly and management truly aims to please.
You won't be disappointed with this choice and personally, I am already looking forward to my return!
Amazing mansion conversion into an event center and hotel. And there is even a lift to get you up to the top floor! Breakfast was generous and cooked to order. It was somewhat difficult for me to find using GPS. Needed to ask for help at the Tesco petrol station.
We had a lovely stay in a "family suite" (a standard room in the U.S. except with full beds instead of queens). Great things about our room include:
➡️ Beautiful 10 ft. ceilings
➡️ A massive, recently remodeled bathroom w/ plenty of storage space for 3 people's toiletries
➡️ Plenty of outlets for charging phones and tablets
➡️ A safe to store those extra electronics while sightseeing
➡️ Plenty of instant coffee & hot chocolate plus tea, shortbread & a kettle to help you warm up after attending...
