"Excellent location, great friendly staff.
Unique and beautiful casitas.
Wonderful restaurant featuring local food.
Very reasonably priced with breakfast included. "
"Room has windows on all sides, and mine had other rooms all around. Folks were walking around at night and early in the morning with lights. I didn’t sleep well. Breakfast was fine, but not great. "
"It was wonderful ~ staff, beautiful setting,
nice comfortable room. We were traveling
and it was the perfect location to stay one night before our Ruta Puuc road trip! "
"Beautiful property with a kind and friendly staff. I stayed at the Lodge several times over the last ten years and my experience has always been very good. For those of you who love nature and appreciate tranquility there is no substitute, start your day with their delicious breakfast and simply walk to the breathtaking ruins of Uxmal for an intimate encounter with the mysterious world of the Maya :))"
"The uxmal ruins were way better than the Chichén Itzá. The staff were very good. The best part was seeing the ruins from our window. We had room 321 and got to see the sunrise over the ruins. Absolutely beautiful!!! Would come again!"

Another return visit, and I'd come back a third time without hesitation.
If you're exploring Uxmal, the Ruta Puuc, or the broader region, The Pickled Onion is simply the right place to stay. The huts are rustic and charming — simple, colorful, and comfortable with AC and a fridge — exactly what you need after a day of archaeological sites.
The pool is a genuine pleasure in the evenings, and the restaurant consistently surprises with inventive offerings that punch well above what you'd expect...
My first 2 choices of hotel were full so I tried this hotel and am so pleased I did. It’s a beautiful jungle retreat, a bit hidden, without loud billboards promoting itself. Super clean, friendly staff, WiFi , good breakfast. The staff are locals which was great. At this point only breakfast is offered so be aware you have to go out to dinner or bring snacks. No refer in rooms. Having a car is helpful but not absolutely necessary.. I came by Uber and left by city bus. I’m a solo female traveler...
It is the most convenient place right across from the ruins at Uxmal. The staff is very friendly and cares about you - they want you to enjoy your time with them. The lodge is old style Mexico with some modern amenities like air conditioning, small refrigerators in room, TVs and jacuzzi tubs. Thus, you get the charm of the old wooden doors, tile floors, wooden slat windows and great bird calls to awaken you, but you have a comfortable bed with air conditioning for hot nights. We very much...
