"Great location, near shopping, restaurants, cafes, and a short walk to the beach. My room had a kitchenette and refrigerator. Very clean. A nice pool area, plus an adjacent kid’s play area.
The only negatives: my room was a distance away from the lobby, and my devices had difficulty initially connecting to the wifi. I went to a common area near the lobby, and was able to connect there. After that, no problems in my room either. Other issue is that diesel tour buses park on the street below some rooms, and leave their engines running, which I found to be disturbing. Not the fault of the hotel, and often short-lived, but still an issue.
Overall, I would definitely stay here again in future. Highly recommended. "
"We love our stay here, loved the restaurant onsite, quick walk to the beach, walk to town, beautifully maintained, warm pool! We’d stay here again for sure…"
"Chacala is definitely off the beaten path. The streets are rough and the shops are limited. However, the beach is terrific. The people are friendly and the pace of life is lovely. The Casa. Liquen hotel is owned and operated bye a welcoming, warm and friendly woman with enough energy for three people. When you stay here, you feel like you’re staying with a friend. The hotel is 3 or 4 years old and in good condition, very clean, but what sets it apart are the friendly staff. We did an early morning hike right from the hotel up to a lovely viewpoint above town that sits on the edge of an ancient volcano. While I was there, I caught one of the most beautiful sunsets I can recall. This town and the hotel are not for everybody. It took me a bit to catch the vibe, but once I did, I really liked it. This is a special place to slow down, unplug and relax. No bar scene, no fancy restaurants. Lots of families enjoying an authentic rustic Mexican village by the sea. "
