This is the most beautiful ryokan we have ever stayed at. The food was delicious with a great variety and the staff explained the menu. The owner came to greet us at dinner and as we were leaving, it was great to meet her. The rooms were amazing and well put together with so many thoughtful touches. I really enjoyed the private garden and bath each morning. The futons were the most comfortable futons that I’ve had. The staff also took great care to help us ship our luggage to our next stay. Very...
It was a lovely hotel. The village was so enjoyable and walkable. We loved the onsen!! Public onsen in the hotel so it was a little busy in the am but very quiet in the evening.
This hotel offers an exceptional opportunity for non-monastics to explore the Eiheiji Temple nearby in comfort. The building is new and well designed, and the breakfast and dinner are exquisite vegetarian offerings from the former Temple Chef. The staff are kind and hospitable, and well organized in facilitating Temple visits.
