Half Moon Bay
Half Moon Bay's crescent shoreline hugs turquoise waters where colorful dive boats and glass-bottom vessels float above vibrant coral. Thatched-roof bars line the sand with swaying hammocks between palm trees, creating the perfect tropical escape. Snorkel right off the beach or hop on a boat to world-class dive sites just minutes away. Fresh seafood and Caribbean fusion dishes dominate the beachfront restaurants where you can dig into conch fritters with your toes in the sand. Resorts offer everything from infinity pools to dive centers, while walkable beach paths connect you to souvenir shops selling local crafts and jewelry.

Orchid Beach Village
Orchid Beach Village offers the Caribbean dream without emptying your wallet. Dive shops line the waterfront where snorkelers splash through crystal-clear turquoise waters just steps from shore. White sandy beaches invite lazy afternoons, while Garifuna drumming creates the soundtrack to your island escape. Beachfront paths connect you to nearby Half Moon Bay and Gumbalimba Park. Budget travelers thrive here with affordable seafood comedores serving fresh catches and local baleadas. Most visitors simply walk the compact village or rent golf carts to explore Roatan's attractions. Water taxis connect to neighboring beaches when you're ready for a change of scenery.
Sunnyside
Sandy Bay's Sunnyside offers a perfect slice of Caribbean bliss without breaking the bank. Powdery white sand beaches and crystal-clear turquoise waters create a stunning backdrop for snorkeling right off the shore. The scenic waterfront promenade lined with swaying palms provides easy access to the reef. Local craft vendors and souvenir shops offer authentic Roatan treasures at prices lower than nearby tourist spots. Budget-friendly guesthouses and small beachfront hotels provide cozy accommodations with genuine island hospitality. Golf carts and water taxis make getting around a breeze, connecting you to West End and West Bay when you're ready to explore more of the island.

Lighthouse Estates
Lighthouse Estates offers a secluded slice of Caribbean paradise with direct access to Roatan's pristine beaches and coral reefs. Luxury vacation villas feature infinity pools and expansive windows that frame those postcard-worthy turquoise views. Just minutes away, Tabyana Beach beckons with soft sands while the underwater wonderland practically begs you to grab a snorkel and make some fish friends. Getting around requires wheels—rent a car or zip along in a golf cart like the cool kids do. When hunger strikes, most villas come with full kitchens, or you can venture a short drive to nearby restaurants. The vibe here is all about privacy, peace, and that sweet ocean breeze that makes you forget what day it is.
Lawson Rock
Lawson Rock brings the Caribbean dream to life with pristine beaches and swaying palms right outside your door. This exclusive north shore community offers villa and condo living with resort-style perks like swimming pools, tennis courts, and a private marina. When you're not snorkeling the Mesoamerican Reef, explore nearby Sandy Bay Beach or the Roatan Institute for Marine Sciences. The dining scene centers around upscale resort restaurants where reservations are recommended. Accommodations range from luxury condos to private villas with housekeeping and ocean views. While walkable within its boundaries, you'll need a rental car or golf cart to discover the island beyond this peaceful enclave.

Roatan Media Luna Resort Affiliated by Meliá
"Absolutely — this keeps the important specifics without feeling like a long complaint. We had a mixed but overall relaxing stay at Media Luna. The rooms were clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the pool area was well maintained. The beach is small, but the snorkeling right off the beach was surprisingly great and one of our favorite things about the resort. There was plenty of food, but we found it just okay and wished there were more authentic Honduran/Caribbean options. Drinks were basic and served in paper cups that quickly became soggy from condensation. The rooms could also use some simple improvements like hooks in the bathroom and better shower heads. A tree hitting our roof during windy nights was also pretty noisy. The staff was generally nice, although some seemed a little disengaged, probably because there were hardly any guests during our stay. There isn’t much to do at the resort, and the excursions offered didn’t really interest us. We left the resort three of our six days to explore other parts of Roatán and definitely recommend finding a reliable taxi driver, since the resort only provides transportation to and from the airport. There were also too many free-roaming cats begging around the dining area. Overall, it’s a clean, peaceful place with good snorkeling and a nice pool if you’re looking to relax, but don’t expect a lively all-inclusive experience, lots of amenities, or exceptional food and drinks."
