Great location and cool vibe to the hotel, with its art and unusual fresh flower arrangements in the public areas. Since it's an old building (which has been renovated) and one side sits on a hill - there are a few stairs to go up, to get to some rooms. although it DOES have an elevator. Convenient location on the main street in Burntisland. Around 5-6 minute walk from the train station. The train into the Edinburgh Waverly Station, center Edinburgh, departs every 20-25, minutes and takes around 30 minutes into Edinburgh. My room was large, with a large screen TV, Hot water kettle. No mini fridge. No elevator. My room faced the backyard so it was quiet. The window opened a little to let in fresh air.
WOW!! This rental was amazing. We do weekly rentals a lot and this was probably the best we have ever stayed in. It was a full size apartment, a full living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. It was large enough that a couple could easily live there full time. Everything was clean and well decorated. The host even left us a welcome note and a bottle of wine. Amazing mansion conversion into an event center and hotel. And there is even a lift to get you up to the top floor! Breakfast was generous and cooked to order. It was somewhat difficult for me to find using GPS. Needed to ask for help at the Tesco petrol station.
When we arrived near the end of time the kitchen was open, they arranged for our bags to be brought to our room and brought us directly to a table in the bar so we got to order in time. The concierge ordered a taxi for our early morning departure the next day and was very helpful. Everyone we met was nice. The room was clean and had a nice shower. Wish we stayed here longer.
This is a beautiful hotel in a perfect location. I stayed here last May and loved it so much I returned last week. The old town of Edinburgh is a short walk away, while the hotel, itself, is on the edge of the new town with many great shops, pubs and restaurants from which to choose. The staff is very friendly and management truly aims to please.
You won't be disappointed with this choice and personally, I am already looking forward to my return!
Overall, and excellent hotel. Only thing we didn't like was the shower. It's some sort of modern design and you there's no sliding door, there's no shower curtain, so it's hard not to get water all over the floor.

We had one night here in preparation for an early flight.
It took us 12 minutes to walk from the hotel to the airport check in - though everyone kept overtaking us and I suspect most people took about 5 minutes.
The staff at reception who booked is in and out were lovely and helpful. The girl who booked us in was very kind helping me with some issues with apps on my phone.
The room was very clean and with all facilities that we required. Very comfortable bed.

Nice people, nice breakfast - just nice! Not a central location - about a 20 minute walk to the Royal Mile - but we prefer the quiet to the noise of the more touristy areas and it's a nice walk. Definitely recommend.
