I stayed in room 2 at the Phyllis Court Club the night before the start of Henley Royal Regatta. Room 2 overlooks the finish line of the regatta course. Luckily, it had cooled down from earlier in the week, as the rooms themselves are not air conditioned. I had a great full English breakfast in the Orangerie (a greenhouse dining room overlooking the river) the next morning. The bath is very well fitted, and the mattress is quite comfortable. Perfect location in Abingdon and just minutes walk to buses to Oxford if that's your interest. Took about 25-30 minutes to get into downtown Oxford on the 2 or 3 buses...very easy. The inn had a recent renovation and while it is clearly a very old property it was very charming, clean, and nicely decorated. Food was good and free breakfast had good offerings. We were there during the World Cup and they opened a separate bar/event space to fit both locals and guests in to watch the games which...
A fantastic stay from start to finish! We received a lovely warm welcome and the staff were all friendly and helpful. Our room was spotlessly clean, spacious and very comfortable, with a fridge and iron provided. The bed was really comfy and the rainfall shower was excellent. We also enjoyed the lovely bar area, and the free parking was very convenient. The cooked breakfast was excellent too. We would definitely recommend and stay again!

The Front House manager Craig is awesome and was very responsive. He goes out of his way to ensure that visitors enjoy their stay. The ample bus options make getting to and from downtown Oxford a breeze. Overall, great bang for your buck!
Stayed one night after a long drive through France and a ferry crossing, just to break up the journey. Arrived with tired kids and weary parents. The staff could not have been more pleasant and helpful, the room was a good size and with good amenities. Breakfast was delicious. Overall, very impressed indeed. Far exceeded my expectations.
