I stayed in room 2 at the Phyllis Court Club the night before the start of Henley Royal Regatta. Room 2 overlooks the finish line of the regatta course. Luckily, it had cooled down from earlier in the week, as the rooms themselves are not air conditioned. I had a great full English breakfast in the Orangerie (a greenhouse dining room overlooking the river) the next morning. The bath is very well fitted, and the mattress is quite comfortable. A fantastic stay from start to finish! We received a lovely warm welcome and the staff were all friendly and helpful. Our room was spotlessly clean, spacious and very comfortable, with a fridge and iron provided. The bed was really comfy and the rainfall shower was excellent. We also enjoyed the lovely bar area, and the free parking was very convenient. The cooked breakfast was excellent too. We would definitely recommend and stay again!

Perfect location in Abingdon and just minutes walk to buses to Oxford if that's your interest. Took about 25-30 minutes to get into downtown Oxford on the 2 or 3 buses...very easy. The inn had a recent renovation and while it is clearly a very old property it was very charming, clean, and nicely decorated. Food was good and free breakfast had good offerings. We were there during the World Cup and they opened a separate bar/event space to fit both locals and guests in to watch the games which...

Cliveden is truly an amazing place to experience! We have stayed here before and this time was even better. Their staff is also absolutely amazing! We had quite a journey getting to England because our original flight to Paris was canceled so we got to Paris later than anticipated and then the trains to England were down because of the heat wave so we couldn't get to London as originally planned either. After over 24 hours of airports and traveling, canceled flights, missing non refundable...
