The hosts are extremely nice and accommodating. It was a bit of a surprise that I was staying in an upstairs apt of their home. Regardless, it was comfortable and they are friendly. Stunning views of the village and the valley from the apt.
The staff was very welcoming and more than helpful. When we found ourselves in a bind because we needed fuel and the only service stations open were automated (which don't accept American credit cards), the hostess went with us and used her personal credit card to get us on the road again. (We paid her back with cash.)
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It is hard to find hotels that will accommodate a family of 5 (two adults, three kids) all in one room. The room we had was comfortable and spacious for our family. The kids loved the play area outside. It was too cold in April to use the pool. The location was convenient for exploring the Lot and Dordogne areas.

We had such a wonderful stay at La Sarlamandre. Our hosts, Stéphy and Séb were so kind and welcoming from the start. The rooms are very clean and feel brand new.

We booked a room at l'Auberge du Puit last august while traveling to France. As we were moving every night, I had to book a bunch of consecutive nights in different hotels. It turns out that I made a mistake on one of the dates and basically booked 2 hotel rooms the same night and none for the next day. Truly an amazing place to stay. If you want to stay in a very old hotel, you will not be able to beat this, maybe 800-900 years old? We have been in France for about 2 weeks, staying in a variety of places and I feel like we hit a home run with our stay at Hotel Bon Encontre. Christine is an extremely accommodating host who worked very hard to meet guests' needs. The hotel is in a wonderfully central location for exploring Dordogne. The breakfast is dependably delicious also with dinners available on request. It is close to the world reknown Lascaux Cave Art and the historical sacred city of Rocamadour.
