I thought I was booking an inexpensive hotel conveniently located near the highway. This place far exceeded my expectations: this hotel could be a destination in itself. The swimming pools (in and out), the grounds, the decor (handcrafted, unusual furniture).....and the breakfast! Fabulous.
We have stayed there for 2 nights the hotel is clean the staff is helpful and in vicinity to the centre. You have free parking for car. Breakfast is great but costs 13€ for adult, kids have free of charge. Overall great hotel
The property is in excellent condition with very clean rooms and convenient o the Salzburg Airport (away from city center and all the congestion that goes with a major tourist location). The pool and multiple types of saunas were a pleasure after long days of work and touring downtown area. the complimentary breakfast was excellent and staff very helpful, speaking excellent English!
Near the airport which reduced our transist vost and travel time. Staff was very helpful. I suggest getting a room on the opposite side ofvthe expressway, its is noisy when you open the window. With it closed its quiet. The rooms are small and have the lasted designs. The TV only had 3 channels, no youtube.
Leopoldskron was a highlight of a 6 country/7 hotel trip. Friendly staff, beautiful property, and easy access to old town via car or taxi (typically about 10 euro each way). The main building is an amazing thing to explore...beautiful rooms and great history. Our room wasn't in that building...more plain jane/contemporary design but on the same property. Hotel staff was very friendly/helpful. Grounds/gardens were a bit rough...didn't detract from the stay at all, but was surprising to see...
Our stay from 17-20 May 2015 at the Schloss Hotel in Salzburg, Austria, was probably one of the best hotels we've stayed at. We were pleasantly surprised to find this hotel so beautiful and picturesque. I have stayed at the Goldener Hirsch for the past 30 years The hotel and its staff never fail. Charming and comfortable, it is located in the midst of an active tourist area but absolutely quiet inside and completely safe outside. The staff listen carefully and exceed every request. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Salzburg.

We had a problem with our first room. They tried to fix the tv and couldn’t, so they moved us to an upgraded room. However, when we got to that room- immediately we can hear the toilet running. So we say thanks but no.
Emma, at reception, was fantastic. She was really busy with other customers- but she managed to get us another room. Guess what- no internet… it’s an old building with lots of stucco.
