The bar and restaurant area was beautiful and the only problem was that it was not open when I was there. Breakfast was good. The pools were clean. It is very nice gated community. And a safe environment. I would definitely stay there again.

The roads getting to the property — and the Nosara area — were incredibly bumpy and rough. Once we arrived it was totally worth it. The staff was very friendly, they helped us with our Spanish, made it easy to schedule rides to town and activities offered. The restsurant was beautiful and the food was fresh and they had light healthy options. What a spectacular location, extremely private and beautiful. The accomodations are absolutely spotless and welcoming staff. But be sure you have four wheel drive or arrange for transportation.

The hotel is easy walking distance to the beach, shops and restaurants. The ease for making arrangements - transportation to other area attractions as well as other locations in Costa Rica - plus COVID testing on site, and thoughtful room design made this a pleasant place to stay. I learned a lot at the lessons I took at the hotel’s surf club.

The property is split between 2 buildings - a beachside building and another about 2 blocks away. That is why you see pool views and beach views in the listing. The Sunset Shack is the perfect place to stay for a surf trip in Nosara! It is quiet and chill compared to other places in the area, and it's a short walk down to the beach. Our room was very comfortable and a perfect size for our family. The staff is so friendly and attentive, and the food at Al Chile is fresh, delicious and nourishing. And reasonably priced.
