The Sunset Shack is the perfect place to stay for a surf trip in Nosara! It is quiet and chill compared to other places in the area, and it's a short walk down to the beach. Our room was very comfortable and a perfect size for our family. The staff is so friendly and attentive, and the food at Al Chile is fresh, delicious and nourishing. And reasonably priced. A very pleasant stay. A bit out of the way, but I suppose that is part of it's charm. A nice pool and relaxing environment. Breakfast was good, but not a lot of choice. Don't go there expecting a beach vacation as it is a 45 minute drive to the nearest beach. Road to the property is pretty rough, but that's typical of off the beaten path properties. The roads getting to the property — and the Nosara area — were incredibly bumpy and rough. Once we arrived it was totally worth it. The staff was very friendly, they helped us with our Spanish, made it easy to schedule rides to town and activities offered.
