Hotels in Punta Leona

We stayed 4 days in Punta Leona then moved into Jaco for 3. I wished that we had stayed the whole time in Punta Leona. Beautiful, quiet and "CLEAN" that's what I enjoyed about the place. 2 separate beaches, 3 pools, 3 bars, 3 restaurants, grocery store (convienance) extra clean rest rooms and showers, butterfly exhibit, monkeys, toucans, macaws, iguanas, man it was great. Probably one of the best complimentary breakfasts that I've ever had. I read other reviews that things were too spread out....

Am from Costa rica and eent to this hotel with my parents. Amazing service all the staff will be there to help you. Beautiful location very close to San Jose ( about an hour and a half). Clean and neat rooms. The breaking point is the restaurant. Nice an clean friendly staff but they take forever to bring your plate ( not exaggerations. 45 mins at breakfast. 1 hour to lunch. Same menu two dinners in a row and lunch). Other than that the beach is half a mile away and enjoyable place.

From the first interaction with Steven in reception (complimentary glass of wine upon arrival), to their willingness to help. I had a race and was not able to take advantage of their buffet breakfast, however the kitchen was kind enough to prepare me a plate of food that was amazing upon my return back to the hotel. Amazing value. Rooms were very clean. The service was excellent. The restaurant was very good. We will definitely be back.

We stopped here one night as part of a longer road trip. The room was comfortable - great AC and shower and the Wifi was great. Beds are double not queen so a little small. The pool area was nice but needed a little cleaning up. We didn’t have breakfast as we left before it was available at 7.30am.

It was a very quiet place Very clean. Easy check in and out. Owner was quick to respond via messages. Would be a great place to stay for a honeymoon.

Very nice hotel on Herradura Beach.The hotel and the people are very good.The swimming poll is the best atracttion.But the hotel is boring,are not enough activities if you dont go on tour or practice golf.The food is very expensive in all restaurants inside and in the Marina.A big supermarket is about 500 meters from the hotel.Jaco town is about 10 minutes.

Jungle surroundings, with lots of butterflies, birds, and monkies. A memorable relaxing spot.

We scheduled the hotel to pick us up at airport. It was so nice to get off a long plane ride and see someone holding a card with your name on it. From SJO to Jaco was in a comfortable Mercedes van with cold water and beer waiting for us. Once we got to Club del Mar, it could not have been any better. The food at restaurant was great, drinks at poolside were cool and refreshing. Every person we met was helpful and kind. I don't want to name them because I would be afraid I would leave someone...

The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The room was amazingly clean and well kept....no carpet anywhere thank goodness. The pool was kept pristine and had direct sunlight until about 2pm. One of the best parts was the free breakfast....it was made to order and delicious. I recommend the omelette plate. :) If you are active, the walking distance to the main beach road was definitely walkable. Awesome stay and would definitely recommend. One caveat....you want to have overnight...

This place was awesome, off the beaten path but well worth the 2hr 40min drive from San Jose airport. Right on the beach!

We loved the hotel. My wife and I were there for 3 nights as part of a combination business trip/vacation. The staff was wonderful, including great recommendations for restaurants. The facilities are very clean and beautiful. The best part of the stay is the beautiful grounds. It is a lush jungle with monkeys and birds, as well as beautiful flowers. The private room was very clean and just big enough to stretch out. The air conditioning was very strong. Nikki, the receptionist on duty during our stay, was a wonderful help to us and devoted some of her own time helping us plan our time in Jaco. The pool is lovely, and the hostel owners make a wonderful Gallo Pinto for breakfast every morning.

The Backyard is one of those places that you really hesitate to leave a review about because you don’t want everybody to discover your secret spot. After visiting the restaurant over the years we finally decided to stay in the hotel on our last trip and were not disappointed.
