"I would have liked to have seen clearer information about the spa and fitness centre closing times. Unfortunately by the time I checked in everything was closed. This was the main reason I chose the Einstein over different hotels. However, the room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was good. "

Service was excellent and so was dinner at the a la carte restaurant; I may even say I had the best meals by far during my 1 week in Switzerland.
While the surrounding area is relatively quiet, location of the hotel is just a short walk from Gonten station which takes you to Appenzell town within 15 minutes.

And let me tell you this, I've never been in such a charming sauna before. It is partially underwater. When it was windy on the lake, you could see the waves hitting the windows of the sauna in a hypnotic rhythm.
