5/5 ⭐️ We absolutely loved the city of Appenzell and this sweet Swiss hotel! Hotel Säntis has so much charm and was one of our favorite stays during our 12-day trip through Switzerland. The room was a really good size, although the bathroom was a little small. Nothing unbearable, though, and overall the room was very comfortable. The location is perfect—right in the middle of town, making it incredibly easy to walk around and explore Appenzell. The restaurant was also great for dinner, but the breakfast buffet was incredible! Everything was very fresh, and the setup was excellent. And the staff deserves a special shoutout. They were incredibly kind and welcoming—probably the nicest staff we encountered during our entire 12 days in Switzerland! We absolutely loved our stay and would definitely stay at Hotel Säntis again when we return to Appenzell. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a charming Swiss hotel in the heart of town!

Right in the heart of town, the location is great. Our room was right at the top of the blue building. It had an internal staircase! It was also huge and had probably the best shower we had during our trip. Parking is available onsite as well as nearby. One thing to note is that the DO NOT respond to messages from Hotels.com. They seemed even confused as to what that was. If you need to contact them, do so directly and not through this site.

Hotel is centrally located and has parking right in front of the hotel for free for an hour or there is a parking lot a block away that costs about 4 CHF for a day using the EasyPark app which for some reason was about half the cost of paying at the machine.

The Appenzell area is a gorgeous rural area with phenomenal scenery. The hotel and town are traditional Swiss architecture with a very welcoming atmosphere. The staff was friendly and the rooms comfortable. This was our favorite area in Switzerland 🇨🇭.

Nice average hotel

Nice hotel, in the middle of the town. The last night it was some kind of festival and they had a concert/dj playing until 02 in the morning! No warning or heads up about that. I could not sleep until the party was over. It was so loud, just 500meters away from our bedroom window!!

This property was not as pictured, noisy, and the staff was not very friendly or accommodating. Not to mention expensive for what you are getting.
