The surrounding gardens burst with tropical blooms, creating perfect picnic spots for families and peaceful corners for morning joggers. Dining options range from upscale lakeside restaurants to cultural dinner shows at Karaweik Palace. Hotels offer everything from luxury lakefront views to boutique charm with spa services. Getting around is easy with abundant taxis, though public transit is limited. The area shines brightest at sunset when the golden light transforms everything into pure magic.

Botahtaung Pagoda as the sun went down. I am not sure what the entrance fee for foreigners is but the huge sign is slightly obnoxious, isn't it?! The Pagoda is very close to some piers which are quite fun to explore. After seeing many other pagodas in the city, we opted out of paying to see another one.
