This hotel was the highlight of our fall driving trip. I loved the modern mountain lodge decor and the overall attention to detail. The hotel is new and successully creates a soothing sophisticated atmosphere. It is located up on a hill in a small town next to a lift several minutes drive from St. Moritz. We followed Michelin's recommendation and were not disappointed. This medium size hotel has it all and makes your stay so pleasant. Great personalized welcome. Great suite with separate living quarters. Nice 'Swiss Muesli breakfast. Very much enjoyed the pool after our many hikes. The center of Arosa is within walking distance and right next to the famous Eichhörnliweg.
The folks at Bellavista were very warm and friendly. We walked in and Elaina was at the front desk to greet us with a smile. The food at their restaurant was some of the best I have ever had and the wait staff very attentive! Cost of dinner was pretty high but definitely worth it. Get the venison stroganoff!
Arrived after dark after a flight from the U.S. and train to Chur. Stayed one night as we took the Bernina Express the next morning. Hotel is modern and spacious enough and convenient to the train station (8-10 minute walk). Breakfast was very good and early enough to catch the BE which departs at 8:30 AM. There is a good Italian restaurant across a side street from the hotel. Wish we had planned to be in Chur longer as it looked to be an interesting place to explore.
