"The Gut Stiluppe just finished its renovation, and while the new parts look stunning, the upgrade has yet to proliferate to all parts of the place activity. Specifically, it feels the kitchen needs to really improve - morning eggs arrived at odd shapes (like scrambled eggs that weren’t scrambled before fried), and coffee with regular milk after we explained of a lactose intolerance. I think it will take a bit more time until the service gets to the level of facilities."

"This resort is world-class at a very affordable rate! The facilities are updated and modern and the hospitality staff is outstanding. The hotel offers three meals a day including a 5-course chef-prepared dinner every night! The resort is focused on wellness and relaxation and is located in a beautiful area of Austria. It is not the easiest to get to, but is definitely worth the extra travel time once you arrive!"

"Lovely hotel with both a traditional part of the hotel and a brand new part including a state of the art spa which opened in December apparently. The spa area was amazing, indoor and outdoor pools (both a little cold!), outdoor jacuzzi (also a little cold!), lots of relaxation rooms with loungers, two saunas of different temperatures, one 90 degree huge panoramic sauna which can easily seat 40-50 people, the other a 60 degree one which is hardly used. "Up to now, after much travel, my favourite hotel is Coul House near Inverness. The Neue Post joins it at the top of my list. It is an elegant, wonderfully designed building..Two conjoined in fact. Top landmarks in Neukirchen am Grossvenediger

For 5 years I was planning to climb this Glacier in the Austrian Alps. It has a special meaning for me since it was my dad's dream to climb it, and due to his Dementia he can no longer do this. Last year I the weather gods finally allowed me to climb the 3666m Glacier - it took 2 days, and a 3am start on the final day. The final push required Crampons and roping up with others. The final 100m lead over a ridge that drops steeply to each side, but the clouds were obscuring it. Finally at the top we were able to catch this tiny glimpse of the ridge as the clouds lifted for only seconds. I am still in awe of this moment, the day and these majestic mountains.
