Lovely old hotel in centre of Thirsk, be prepared for noisy floorboards. Room was pleasant at side of hotel, so no view. The bathroom was up two steps, difficult at night, if partner is asleep and you do not want to put on a light. One negative, placed the 'we're going green, skip the clean' sign on the door, as we left in the morning. When we came back, the bed had been tidied, coffee and biscuits had been refreshed, very nice, but not what we had expected, as we had left all our stuff out in...
This is a lovely place! The room was spacious and clean, the food excellent and cooked to order. I asked to stay an extra night but they were booked up. Not the best location if you’re relying on public transportation.
This B&B excelled in every way. As grandparents traveling with a twelve-year old, we praise Sue and staff in making us feel beyond welcome. The pool and the outdoor heated tub absorbed much of our granddaughter's excess energy, as did playing with the resident Rottweiler Axel. The grounds are lovely-lots of holly and ivy- and the rooms, immaculate and full of charm. The traditional Yorkshire breakfast is a plus for hardy appetites.
The food and drink was fantastic. The staff very helpful and their pub experience great! I wish we had more time allocated to experience this lovely part of the country. Also the cab service was fantastic and very flexible.
What an amazing find. The location is perfect. The room was spacious and well appointed with acomfortable bed and luxurious linens. Dinner in the restaurant was amazing. Breakfast was incredible.
10/10 for overall quality, attention to detail, comfort, attentiveness, full English breakfast and more. One tiny niggle - I suspect that the owner's suite was above my room and footsteps above were clearly audible (early and late only). I would strongly recommend this hotel and will stay there again.
Adored my time here! My room was lovely and cozy, I wish I would have stayed longer. The staff was super friendly and helpful and the food was amazing!
It’s a lovely old building with a good sized room and a comfy bed. The bathroom was the smallest I have ever seen! But it functioned! There is a lovely view and a lovely and lively pub, helpful and friendly staff and a solid breakfast. We would stay again.
