Pendleton and related destinations

Cowboy culture comes alive at the world-famous Pendleton Round-Up rodeo, where genuine Western heritage isn't just remembered but lived. The historic Pendleton Woolen Mills offers tours showcasing the iconic blankets and clothing that have warmed generations. Wildhorse Casino provides entertainment without the neon excess of larger gambling destinations. For a quieter afternoon, wander through the Pendleton Center for the Arts or explore the fascinating exhibits at Heritage Station Museum. Roy Raley Park offers green respite after a day of horseback riding tours through rolling hills. The Happy Canyon Hall of Fame preserves rodeo legends while downtown's brick buildings house surprisingly good restaurants that locals recommend with pride.

The City of Pendleton has hosted a 4 day rodeo starting the second Thursday of September since 1910 at these grounds. It’s advertised as an event ‘worth driving for’ and one we hope to attend at some point in our travels.
