Learn more about Crested Butte
Beneath towering peaks, this former coal mining town has transformed into a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts without losing its frontier soul. The Mountain Resort offers legendary powder skiing in winter, while summer reveals why locals call this the 'Wildflower Capital of Colorado.' Mountain bikers tackle the famous Trail 403 for views that justify every uphill pedal. The Victorian-era downtown feels refreshingly authentic, where ski boots and hiking shoes outnumber dress shoes at local watering holes. Visit the Mountain Heritage Museum to understand how miners became ski bums, then catch a performance at the Center for the Arts. The Nordic Center provides groomed trails for cross-country adventures when snow blankets the valley.

The Grand Lodge, A Vail Resorts Property
"We enjoyed our stay at the Grand Lodge during the summer. The room was large, spacious and comfortable. The ceiling fans helped circulate air. The small kitchenette was useful and had all the basics. The bus into downtown picked up across the street and was very convenient."
Elevation Hotel & Spa
"Good stay zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz"
The Grand Lodge by Traverse Hospitality (No Resort Fees)
"The place was great! The room was clean, especially given it was pet friendly. Super easy with our dogs being on the first floor. Loved having the little kitchenette. The host communication was amazing."
Nordic Inn
"Our room was very clean and staff members were very helpful. The breakfasts were fair. The building was older but had been updated. There were very few outlets in our room. There was no air conditioning. We had a ceiling fan and a window fan. However, if you used the window fan, you could not close the shade completely. The price of the room was affordable. The free public transportation was nearby."
The Lodge at Mountaineer Square, A Vail Resorts Property
"The staff were excellent. Very warm and friendly. Outstanding customer service. Our room seemed a bit outdated. Small tv in a large cabinet .Our bathroom had an older tub, the bathroom cabinet had numerous paint chips ,the small vanity mirror light was out. In the bedroom one of the light bulbs was out in a lamp on the night stand. For the price of the room, the resort fees, and $30.00 a night for parking seemed high for the quality of the room."
Lodge at Mountaineer Square
"Nice room, not much better than other rooms"
Vaquera House
"Highly recommend! Beautiful rooms and very helpful staff."
Public House Lofts
"We stayed in the Beacon loft and it was beautiful! Loved the bathroom and comfy bed. It is right above a bar, so if you are very sensitive to sound maybe skip this one on the weekend. We loved how it was right on the main street next to all the restaurants and shops. Would definitely stay here again!"
WestWall Lodge
"Great location, and wonderful property and staff. Condo was very clean and plenty of room for our family of four. We went at the very end of off-season, second week of June, and loved the privacy and lack of crowds."
