Hometown is a favorite show of mine. I actually toured around to see some of the sights from the show. Today I ran into a few of the people who were featured on the show. Super friendly place. They make you feel at home

Such friendly people everywhere we went. Highlight was meeting Adam Trest and talking to him while we bought his artwork. Very impressed with Roger's museum. Very sweet little city.

Like Laurel. Downtown has lots of shopping and places to eat. Most places downtown closes at 5, some restaurant, coffee shops and ice cream Shops stay open later.

Very nice small town but far too many vacant buildings just outside the downtown. The revitalization of the downtown has been remarkable.

Laurel is a growing town. There are lots of fast food restaurants and several sit down restaurants within a mile or two. It has a Walmart and Lowe's nearby. There are lots of gas stations too. It looks like a nice small city.

Laurel is a cute little town in the midst of modernizing. I think, in the next 10 years or so, it'll be like a southern Ashville for vacationing- full of art and artists. Visiting the sawmill was my favorite part!

Had great food at Bird Dog. Extremely friendly people on the streets downtown. Drove around and looked at the lovely houses in the Historic Area. Great brochure with all kinds of information.

Laurel itself has some very beautiful areas and yet there's also some very blighted areas. Much larger than I anticipated but wonderfully kind people.

It is a quaint little town. It's also the home front for the TV show Home Town on HGTV I will visit it again soon!
"My stay here was quite nice. The rooms were cleaned everyday and look very nice inside. The customer service at the front desk, especially Mrs. Dot were very helpful and super friendly. I will definitely stay here in the future."
