The citizens show great pride in the town based on reburbishing the main part of Hwy 82 - library, sculptures, refurbished buildings, lots of different types of businesses. It felt welcoming to walk up & down the main street.

A bit of a boom town due to oil from the Permian Basin. There is some nice street art on the main drag. Not a terrible lot to do, or a lot of dining choices, but it is a small town.

Artesia was a cool little town with plenty of motel options. I definitely DO NOT recommend the Artesia Inn.

"Very nice hotel. Might want to figure out how to mitigate the pigeon problem on 2nd floor. We were in room 227 and outside both windows were nesting pigeons and all that that entails, very messy. "
"Super great find!! Property is very nice and clean! The room as so adorable!! All the extra touches were wonderful such as the continental breakfast in the room including milk for cereal and juice. The bed was so comfortable that we’re going to request the name of the mattress! "
"Late check in. Staff member obviously knows more than anyone. Typical youngster these days. Overall the hotel and room was very nice, clean and spacious. "
