Grand Hotel des Lles Borromees is a wonderfully elegant hotel set lakeside with beautiful grounds and gardens. My wife and I extended our stay from 3 to 5 nights - expensive, but well worth it. Where else on earth would be nicer than this? The views from our balcony of the lake and mountains were breathtaking.

Older building, not too large by modern standards, nice elegant rooms. Just beautiful downstairs areas. Large breakfast room with terrace overlooking the lawns and one main restaurant. Access to Spa and indoor pool included. Outdoor pool among the gardens. One day a guest's 1960 Ferrari parked out the back with the top down - just like that ! One night tango dancing on the hotel...
Great place to stay in Stresa. It's excellent but don't expect it to be like the Ritz. Within town center and 5mins walk to the ferry landing. However, it's a 15mins walk to the train station on cobblestone roads so pulling the suitcase was not as smooth. The A/C worked nicely and the bed was comfortable. Staff were very nice and welcoming. Enough time to hop on the ferry and visit other towns along Lake Maggiore.
Gorgeous trees and flowers in April and many birds singing; also, you have beautiful views of Lake Maggiore. This is a wonderful place for relaxing. Especially nice if coming from a wintry country! The staff at Hotel Royal was very helpful and they spoke English very well!
Hotel Belvedere has a one of a kind island setting within Lake Maggiore. Our balcony view was terrific and so spacious. Windows all around made the room very cheerful. The experience alone makes this place unforgettable. We easily caught a boat from Stresa and were able to park our car right at the Stresa boat dock, so logistics were simple. The hotel has a wonderful restaurant, appeared that the clientele were arriving by private boats in the evening and the atmosphere was very nice. WiFi...
We stayed at the Astroria 5 years ago and likes it so much we came back. The hotel has old school charm while providing fantastic service. The staff are wonderful. The hotel has a beautiful view of the lake and it is a 5 minute walk to the hiatpric center, where you can find restaurants and shops. It is also a perfect place to take day trips. It is an easy 1.5 hours drive.
Fantastic hotel with very helpful staff. In room we found a personalized welcome note, delicious nibbles from their bakery and refreshing bottles of water. The room had a view of the lake …also a plus. Restaurant and room service was absolutely top notch. We will stop again.
The staff will make your experience exceptional. We left a C-PAP machine on the train. Marina took much of her time filing reports in Italian so we could locate and pick up the device. Enchanting family run hotel. Would have stayed longer if we would have known how nice it was. Indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Spacious rooms. Excellent location. The hotel made reservations for us to dine on Isola Pescodore Island. We were picked up in front of the hotel, steps away from the marina and ferries in a private boat at no charge. Had a delicious meal with a view to the ocean and the sun setting. Free ample car parking and free lobby wifi.
My wife and I first visited Grand Hotel Dino several years ago on a tour, and the beautiful images remained with us. We decided to return this July and it was everything we remembered and much more. The hotel is spectacular and the scenery is as well. Hopefully on our next trip up north we will bring our entire family including our grandchildren. We know that they, too, will just love it.
This is a beautiful historic warm and welcoming grand, yet friendly and comfortable, hotel. The staff was so very accommodating and everyone was happy and nice. Even though we don’t speak Italian, the staff always had someone who spoke English. Rooms are a bit small but you have to understand that this is an old hotel.
