What can I say? This hotel was absolutely amazing, from the top-notch hotel service at the front desk to the property cleanliness; it outshined every hotel I’ve ever been to in my life. The property, rooms and staff were all amazing. The family that owns the hotel are very hospitable and welcoming. We had a lovely evening chatting with them about a local festival l. It was very memorable.
However, if you did not rent a car buyer beware that it is a long and steep climb/walk to the hotel from any bus stops or ferries. And Ubers/taxis are hard to come by. Other than that the walk itself is beautiful just a little bit difficult.

The Lugano Dante hotel is a great hotel, the location can't be beaten, steps from the funicular and right by the city center, we walked everywhere. We had a fantastic time. Albergo Moderno is quite off the beaten path, somehow we had misestimated where it was in relation to our target (it was listed as a Lake Como area property ....), but all the same a lovely experience. This is a traditional European style pensione where the proprietor prepares the meals, manages the bookings, etc. Located at the summit in Valle Imagna, the view (and drive) was breathtaking, the air lovely and the experience fantastic.
