Exit Glacier Lodge
8/10 Good
"The Exit Glacier Lodge was a nice respite from the busier, more expensive lodges in Seward. The beds were good and shower was hot. We arrived on the last day of their season (September 11th), so the kitchen was closed as was the restaurant next door. The managers were very friendly and offered us a complimentary upgrade from a cabin to an inside room. I would love to spend more time during the summer on our next visit."
Hotel Seward
8/10 Good
"Seward doesn't have much to offer on the hotel front, and we were looking for something historic or with a little charm. The Seward Hotel is clearly the best offering in that regard. It has the best location if you're looking to do anything in Seward beyond catching a harbor cruise. The hotel itself does have some charm (the taxidermy display is a bit over the top, but it's Alaska, after all), and our room was large and comfortable. For the price, we would have liked a bit more service for our room -- we were there three nights and the only time a hotel staff member came in our room was at our request to replace the battery in the beeping smoke alarm. Like many other hotels, the Seward seems to have used the Covid epidemic as an excuse to quit providing room cleaning, though we don't remember being told there wouldn't be any. At the very least, trash service would have been nice."
Resurrection Lodge on the Bay
10/10 Excellent
"The place itself was very simple, but absolutely worth going to for the view, the chairs, the peace, and the friendly staff as well as the heaters and the blankets on the porch!! A gem!"
Safari Lodge
8/10 Good
"Room was clean and well designed. We were on the ground floor, with a beautiful view of the harbor. Down fall the toilet was extremely loud and the shower head was very high. The folks above us were not light footed, sounded like elephants."
Harborview Inn
10/10 Excellent
"Great place. Was able to walk to most of what we wanted to see while in Seward. Very reasonable."
Hotel Edgewater
10/10 Excellent
"Awesome place with great view"
Safari Lodge Adventure Camp
10/10 Excellent
"The room was very spacious, clean, up to date. The area where it's located is very pretty. We loved the setting. The shower room was separate from the yurt itself and is a shared space, but it was clean and had most everything we needed. I have 2 recommendations for the shower room- a way to tell if its occupied or not- like an outside light that turns on when its locked and off when it's not, and a stool or something to sit on- since its a wet room, to be able to put shoes and socks on dry. The room could use a small table to sit and eat at- even a little table between the chairs, but we easily made do. A little confusion on the check-in process, my fault probably. Didn't know we had to go to the office downtown first, but thankfully someone responded to my text pretty quickly with help and an answer. The toilets are port-a-potties on site, but that is in the description. You can't drive right up to the yurts, but there are sturdy carts for managing your luggage available for use. We would stay here again."
