Maria was a wonderful host, and she was especially helpful in finding a particular, fairly new viewpoint in the Douro Valley and just in providing helpful information for things to do and things to eat.

A slice of heaven. Discovered this place 0n a day trip a year ago and knew we had to return for a stay. Now we have to return for several days. So comfortable and beautiful. Highly recommend to anyone who likes wine or not. Love this place, truly a hidden gem!
Great place to relax and experience the wine country. The dinner, port tour and port tasting was a special treat and the morning breakfast excellent. It was great walking the grape fields or just sitting under the fig trees outside the 16th century manor.
This was one of our favorite stays of our whole trip in Portugal. It’s incredibly quiet, peaceful and beautiful. We could have spent days just sitting out on the beautiful garden. The room was spacious, bed was comfortable, and patio was a great additional space. We weren’t able to eat dinner at the hotel the specific night we stayed, but would recommend it over driving into town. Kira was the sweetest dog roaming the property. Would love to come back one day.
Gracious host Bernardo, has created a beautiful paradise overlooking the Douro Valley. The view is spectacular, the family style dinner a fun way to meet fellow travelers and hiking opportunities abound.
Our stay at Quinta Da Marka was exceptional. This centuries-old vineyard overlooks the Douro River, with sweeping views in every direction. The accommodations are a newer addition and include seven comfortable, well-appointed rooms. Guests can also enjoy the pool, scenic river-view terraces, and walking paths through the vineyard. The location is really out of the way but thanks to GPS we found it! The quinta is situated on outskirts of a small village which is quite charming. Staff was very welcoming and quite helpful. We enjoyed the onsite dinner options and the Quinta's wine. The room was very nice and outside seating along with pool area allowed us to enjoy the beautiful countryside. A suggestion would be to offer guests a complimentary glass of the quinta wine when registering.
Meticulously clean property, quiet, relaxing, and professionally managed hotel. I have nothing but superlatives to say about our experience in Favaios. The town itself is worth the trip and the people are among the most friendly I have encountered in Portugal. Even the dogs are mellow. We will return.
Lovely picturesque property. Guest rooms are rectangular structures mostly glasses terraced on the hills with a beautiful view of wine country. Pro-tip meals can be ordered takeout through hotel management.
Beware of ants don’t leave food out.
We had a very nice stay here. The property is small, so it is quiet (I believe only a total of 4 rooms). The views from the property are immaculate. There are such pretty views of the duoro river. In the morning, a homemade breakfast of eggs, meats, and fresh fruits is available.
I will say that it is not possible to walk from the property to any restaurants or wineries, but taxis seems to be readily available.
