What can I say about the STAFF and HOTEL (ryokan) experience that I had at the Tamatsukuri Choseikaku Grand Hotel?? All I can say was AMAZING. I arrived prior to the check-in time, as my train schedule was fairly rigid this day. The wonderful staff had no issues in storing my backpack in their storage area until the official time I could check in. This allowed me to explore the area of Tamatsukuri, which is a fabled, old, traditional onsen area of Northern Japan. It is well located...

We stayed here for 2 nights, quite disappointed there is no crab on the first day breakfast..but luckily we had crab on the last day breakfast, yeah! our room has oceanview and we really enjoy the view; hotel has supplied kimono and we really love it, the bed is so comfy and room is big and clean; staffs are nice and explained all the amenities to us; they have water supply at each floor and free parking in the front

This appears to be the best choice among the several hotels near the Matsue train station. It’s across the street from the station and you can use an underground passageway to get to the hotel. The hotel has a large lobby, easy check in and well supplied rooms. It’s doubtful that the other hotels have such a good breakfast as the Matsue Excel. There’s a wide variety of well prepared Japanese and Western breakfast items to start your day.
