Tranquil & beautiful cottage & well-maintained gardens. The cottage was well- equipped, included a how-to book, directions prior to arrival & departure directions. The cottage was exceptionally clean & comfortable.

Perfect - just what I needed. Clean, super comfortable, comfy bed, black out curtains, lovely staff and lovely food in the restaurant. And you can't beat the setting!

Clean room

Nowadays the rooms in motels are SO tiny, you almost feel claustrophobic, but Cumberland's rooms are large and comfortable, well supplied, clean, and windows with cross-ventilation. Even the bathrooms are large. We were very impressed, enjoyed our 9-day stay there immensely, and would definitely book there again. Cumberland Motel is just about in the center of Hastings, New Zealand, so we also had easy access to wherever we wanted to go. The owners were very hospitable, too, and we honestly...

Nice staff

I have stayed here before so it makes life easier to use somewhere you have been before. They are very easy to find and handily situated to McLean Park if you are heading to Napier for the cricket. Sky TV and a swimming pool complete the package. AC also appreciated.

Loved the access to the beach, the little kitchen in the room to heat up food , access to restaurants and coffee shops.

Our unit featured a "kitchenette", but didn't have a way to cook food, other than a microwave.

Great location in town. Room was quiet and warm. Easy walk across the road to the waterfront or round the corner to the mall and restaurants. Has plenty of character in the hotel. Rooms are not large, but they don't need to be. Main bar downstairs closed early on a Friday night, 9 pm, but the interconnecting Irish bar was still going. Car parking was easy enough in the street out front, but council do have cars with number plate readers patrolling and enforcing so make sure you pay from 8am.

Clean and comfortable and spacious. Mark was a gem. He called me to let me know I left some medication. Thank you for the extra effort. Would stay again and stay longer.

Nice hotel in Napier New Zealand close to the water. With nice water views good location close to restaurants and shopping. Loved the antique shop next door! Room was nicely appointed comfy bed and great pillow selection... Ring in advance if you require extra bedding for the suite.

The room was quite large and the ocean view was outstanding. Everything was clean and the beds were comfortable. We were able to walk to dinner, the parks, the main street and the aquarium. We had everything we needed for our 2 night stay.

Lovely place with sounds of the ocean surf to lull you to sleep! Great deal for the money!

Lovely place to stay, very convenient and just out of the city enough. Great Indian restaurant close by. Very good accommodation.
