The Dorint hotel is located close to the Congress center in Augsburg. In about 2 min. you can reach the Tram station which takes you right to the historic city center in about 10 min. There is a Parking option right next to the hotel, in case your arrive via car, and a large park close by e.g. to jogg.
It is a modern hotel with comfortable rooms. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The breakfast buffet is extensive and very good.
Checked in quickly with no delays and assigned a room on the 4th (5th floor by USA standards). Room was neat and clean. My room was in the middle of the floor and quiet with a view of the HBhf. Bathroom was fairly clean with traces of mold in the shower stall and the shower door leaked if you did not keep the shower water off the shower door. The hotel is very nice. The salt sauna is marvelous. The food (breakfast and dinner) were very healthy and delicious. The room was clean and comfortable.
Was only there one night so we really didn’t use the kitchen, rooms we nice and bathroom was clean. I just didn’t like the process of trying to get a code for the room so late and then looking for the address on the street in the rain. Location services could have been better.
Good location - near tram / bus stops and just across the street from the Fuggerei. There are also a grocery store and plenty of food options nearby.
Rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. Be prepared to walk up the stairs, there is no elevator (however, this was not a deterrent for our group)
If I stay in Augsburg again, I will stay at the Jakoberhof.
