We came to Olomouc with a group of summer abroad students. The Clarion hotel is a much upgraded version of a previous hotel named Sigma. It is new, clean and modern. The hotel is just opposite the train station and about 25 minutes walk or four tram stops from the upper and lower squares (the old center of Olomouc). The staff spoke English and was helpful. For a price of 73 dollars per night including a wholesome breakfast, the hotel offers value. The only issue we had was that one day the room...

I stayed there during Olomouc half marathon event and the hotel made our stay very pleasant by providing bottle of water, protein bars and discount on special marathon menu in their restaurant. They also prolonged their SPA opening hours until midnight so that runners could go rest in there after the evening race. The rooftop SPA has a nice sauna, whirlpool, chillout area and a bar.

I arrived after midnight. I was welcomed by a very nice and welcoming lady, I later found out she is security. I was rapidly accomodated in a very nice, clean, and big room with a larger than normal tub. Everything was sparkling clean and brilliant. The lady adviced me where to park and alerted me about the free made to order breakfast. I chose the eggs and bacon platter. I was served a choise of vegetables and a varied of ham and salami before my breakfast arrived. I was also given yogurt....
