A very nice quiet hotel located right of the promenade , villa marina and near many good places to eat and shop within walking distance. Excellent staff provides quiet, friendly service. Room was very comfortable , quiet and everything worked well and was well maintained. It’s a great choice in Douglas. Restaurant had very good food too.
The Empress hotel was perfect for a home location to explore the Isle of Man! Walkable to the buses, close to pubs and an exception English breakfast each morning!
The HQ restaurant was exceptional. They had a special TT menu, and I can tell you it was prepared with Michelin style attention

The hotel was historic, and historically old. But still grateful for the stay while at TT.
We chose this hotel because it was cheap and in a great location. We didn't expect much by way of luxury, and got what we expected. When we arrived to check in there was no staff member to be found, the courtesy phone didn't work, and the pay phone was broken. Eventually someone showed up and gave us keys. The room was small and the bed was made of rocks, but the view of the ocean was amazing and the tiny wedge shaped bathroom was the cutest. The Chinese restaurant downstairs serves delicious...
This place is hidden gem.
