Every aspect of our stay was extremely lovely. The room and amenities were very spacious and lovely and it was very tastefully decorated. This is a gorgeous manor house in the heart of the Dordogne Valley next to the river. The views are spectacular and the gardens are beautiful. We had the Rousseau room at the very top of the building. It was spacious and very comfortable. We were prepared to have to walk stairs (no elevator) and the staff carried bags up and down. The heating was tricky but staff sorted it out. Breakfast was great and location is superb. Lea on the staff was especially helpful. We have been in France for about 2 weeks, staying in a variety of places and I feel like we hit a home run with our stay at Hotel Bon Encontre. Christine is an extremely accommodating host who worked very hard to meet guests' needs. The hotel is in a wonderfully central location for exploring Dordogne.
