My wife and stayed at Masseria La Chiusa for a long weekend a few weeks ago (September 2015). While the hotel and its rustic surroundings were lovely, the thing that sets apart this spot is the super helpful staff. We arrived quite late on a Saturday night, but the staff was able to prepare a dinner for us and relocate us to a room that they thought we would like better (the new room had a terrace overlooking the valley) all the same. Our hosts were very helpful with restaurant recommendations and where/ when to catch the train to Cefalu. The breakfasts were delicious, and the location was close to the center of town. I would not recommend driving in Palermo.

This was a little tricky to find, with the chaotic streets and traffic, but Alessandro came to the rescue,found us and drove us to his lovely B & B. Once there it was a wonderful spot to explore by foot. Beautiful rooms and wonderful staff.

Loved the place. It’s beautiful, clean, and couldn’t be in a better location. Arrival by car was excellent with valet parking service. The owner personally welcomed us and made us feel relaxed, explained everything well, and gave us great recommendations for Palermo. The only thing that was not great is that we were 15 mins late to check out (at 11:15) and the person at the front desk made a big deal about that. Il Giardino di Ballarò is a small boutique hotel located right in the center of the old, historic part of Palermo not more than a 10 min walk from most of the sights. It is a very cozy and modern accommodation, and has a lot of character. We felt very welcomed as soon as we walked in - the staff is very welcoming and friendly, offered us refreshments and then provided us with a lot of useful sightseeing and dinning tips. Nice breakfast that you can have inside or in the outdoor private garden....

The place was a great value for the money. The only issue I had was that I forgot to read the checkin instructions and notify the host the day before I got there. I booked through Hotels.com and assumed it was more "hotel like". Even so, the host met me within minutes and was very helpful, providing dinner recommendations and how far they were. The room was exactly what we needed.

The room was clean and it was easy to enter the apt. The room had a good view to the port/sea. Only thing is that is a little bit far (10 blocks from the main tourist street and attractions.) Nevertheless , we ate close by in a good restaurant. Two blocks away a main train station to go to the airport.

The property is gorgeous and the building is very well maintained. The seaview to the harbor and ocean is serene. There is no noise from the marina or harbor. Staff was very attentive. The rooms were not missing anything. They were generously outfitted with robes, pool sandals, pool bag etc. we had a very memorable stay.

The only drawback was the street noise at night. But nice hotel and the staff was very helpful

Really, it was good. A very nice hotel with an incredibly welcome staff. They solve your problems immediately if you have any (we had a problem (my wife felt ill at ease) and they organized an ambulance at once). Nice pool, clean and cosy. It’s cleaned up every morning and is open 9.30-19.00. You have got a coin douche, toilets, transats. Well, you know it’s not a five stars hotel, but it’s calm and six minutes walk to the beach.
