"Great location. Quiet area. Good value for money. Ideal size for a couple. Pet friendly. Perfect base for hiking as only a short drive to popular peaks. Parking tricky due to narrow street, limited spaces. Kitchen basically a conservatory, so most of the day time difficult to spent time in due to heat (late June). Would be very cosy in winter, autumn or early spring. "

"This was a short break for us, just two days. Food was really good with portions rather too large for us pensioners. Great choice at breakfast. Lunch menu wide ranging: we had home made fish finger sandwich with chips, only £10. Puts Warners to shame. Will go again. very convenient for trips out, eg Steam railway and Brecon canal trips."

"I was going to visit the Brecon Mountain Railway and I needed somewhere close by to stay for the night. Luckily, I chose the Butchers Arms. The room was lovely and clean and the bed very comfortable. The food was filling and tasty and I had breakfast looking across to the start of the Brecon Beacons. The beer was wonderful especially the Butty Bach (little friend in Welsh). "

"Thank you for our lovely stay. We just came back from our 2nights stay and the place is absolutely stunning and would highly recommend. Rooms perfect with en suite and views when sat outside were amazing. Loved watching the red kites . Central to all walking spots and hosts were friendly and nothing wasnt too much trouble for them. "Quite remote. Staff gave us free left over curry which was very nice. Beverage options are vast. About a 30 minute drive from pen y fan. Only had WiFi in the main rooms though. No signal or WiFi in the room we were in. We only stayed for one night so it didn’t matter for us. cheap and cheerful. "

"Hotel picked primarily because of location. It is a fairly old building so is quirky. Bedroom and bathroom size was excellent."
