"Lovely staff, nice and quiet within easy tuk tuk ride to Arugam Bay"

"Rustic hotel accommodation right on beach, 10 minute drive out of Arugam Bay. Tuk Tuk accessible. Basic accommodation with wifi only in verandah of our unit (11), and in dining area. Lovely atmosphere and staff are very accommodating and friendly. Loved their Sri Lankan meals. It’s not 5 star hotel but the staff make up for it. "

"Booked this hotel through Expedia prior to my trip, when I landed in Colombo I received a text message from a French (+33) number saying that my booking at The Coconut would be cancelled, and that the prices I had booked were no longer valid! My only choices were to cancel the booking or pay the "new prices" which were 3x higher! I ended up saying I didn't want the booking and found other accommodations. I actually went to the hotel during my trip where the front desk person was frustrated...

"Fabulous beach view, helpful and attentive staff, quite, clean pool. Would happily recommend "

"The staff are courteous and welcoming"

"Great hotel in Arugam Bay but what makes it memorable is Subu and his staff. Every request is quickly dealt with and no matter how busy the are, Subu always has time to have a little chat. The hotel is finishing the renovations so our room was missing a few things but it didn't matter at all because you're just taken by the laid back atmosphere of the place. Subu arranged the surf lessons with Sawmy and that was a great experience too. I would definitely recommend the hotel"

"The location was nice had food beach access and the pool was nice for dipping in ."

"The room was clean, the staff were helpful. Great location and family friendly. We’d definitely stay again."

"Great place to stay. 2 excellent safaris where we saw a lot of wildlife including leopards and there was also a pilgrimage so we saw that too. Room was fine. Excellent food and drink reasonably priced. Loved it."

"Close to everything with great staff, breakfast and the rooms were very comfortable. Would stay again"

"Séjour en famille 4 nuits Petite cuisine extérieur et petit jardin "

"There was a problem with our reservation as apparently hotels.com bookings do not transfer over to the hotels system and therefore they had no record of our booking. This meant that they did not have the rooms that we had booked available. The hotel owner/manager was very helpful in finding us different rooms but these were not what had been reserved and meant that we had to separate family members which was not ideal for a week. Other than that the breakfast was good, the rooms were clean and...

"This property had its pros and its cons. Pros ✨Friendly, welcoming staff and always happy to see you ✨Location to the surf, shops, bars and restaurants, undeniably spot on, 5 starts for that alone. ✨Spacious rooms with air con ✨Reasonable price Cons 🫠Restaurant, bar and coffee not operating as I think it is now low season and everyone is getting ready to shut down for the end of the season so we didn’t have the opportunity to enjoy the advertised amenities 🫠It’s a hostel pulling in young...

"Excellent value for money. Ideally situated just off the beach. The owner is extremely kind and will go above and beyond to help you out."

"We were 2 familie checked in to the hotel. Relativtly expensive, hence expected a decent standard, but the hotel didnt even have a minimum proper facilities to justify the cost. Bad/old towels No soap No water bottles A/C didn't work well in some rooms Remote controls were missing Rust doors in the bathroom (was not possible to get out if/when closed from in side) Clogged drainage Strong smell from the washrooms Broken closet seats Broken tap Breakfast is minimum Bugs in the pool Overall...
