The property is beautiful as usual! The food and staff were phenomenal as usual. One of my favorite places to stay.

Great Breakfast, good place for those looking for something other than a “chain” experience. Free guest only EV charging - Tesla & J1772. Nice/responsive staff. Short drive to beautiful downtown with shops/restaurants.

Excellent location by Lake Michigan. But though updated room, some refinishing of doors was yet to be done.

The heated pool was nice on a chilly day. We decided to stay there instead of going other places. Having the ability to make a campfire and cook s’mores was also big plus. The only thing I would say as a means of improvement is having a ramp going into the large building next to the pool as it was difficult to get up and down the stairs at the time

The guests felt special. In conclusion, It was an absolute pleasure and memorable stay. Also amazing housekeeping service , cleanliness of the rooms.

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights to visit family. We had our little dog with us and were given a bottom room close to the side door for our convenience. We also explained that we would have our daughter and her 2 kids with us for a few of the nights, so that we could all spend time together. We were told that it would be no problem at all, and were not charged any more for them to stay...not even for our "4 legged' child. The whole staff, including the maids were so friendly and...

I was absolutely amazed when I arrived. I came in super late like after midnight to avoid traveling in a bad storm. I thought I could grab my stuff and get to the lobby but it started raining when I was walking through the parking lot. A lady on the night staff was running toward me with an umbrella! And she was apologetic she didn't make it to me on time -- I don't think I've ever seen care like that for a late night arrival. Super thankful and impressed.

The property is very nice and in a great area. Everyone of the staff members was top notch friendly!

Very nice two night stay! Especially enjoyed the breakfast offerings! The food was good quality and offered many choices. The beds were comfortable and our room was spacious. (We had an arguing neighbor one night ... but the hotel had no control over that). This is a good location to explore both South Haven and Saint Joseph! Western Michigan is a great place!

Lovely setting and beautifully outfitted room. Second floor up stairs. Hosts Jude and Bob were so welcoming and friendly! They both added to our weekend with friends. Room was comfy and nicely sized. Bathroom clean and nice walk in shower. We stayed in the Chamonix room. Breakfasts were delicious and homemade. Excellent stay! Will definitely go back to the Black River Inn!

My husband and I planned an impromptu trip to South Haven with our 2 small dogs. ! We hit the jackpot with selecting the right place. Todd was a great resource, answering our questions, giving recommendations and playing host during the weekend happy hour and making breakfast. We can’t wait to come back. Our room was just right. We had a King room. The hotel is very charming!
