The staff were very accommodating, the front desk employees were exceptional. The experience from check in to check out, the location and food were all great. The only issue we had was getting back to the hotel on the days we were in the city. Uber doesn't go to that area as yet. But would definitely stay there again. City Hotel is part of the reason our first time in Scotland was so enjoyable.
We stayed at The Raeburn for one night on a recent trip to Edinburgh but wish we could have stayed a few more! The room was huge with lovely woodwork and a marble bathroom (the fixtures were top-notch with a huge tub, huge shower, double sink, and towel warmer). The only “con” is parking for the hotel, which is about a 15 min walk away, so can be challenging if driving.

This was a fun place to stay in Edinburgh. We only booked it for one night on the tail end of our trip to Scotland. We wish we had done it for the two nights at the beginning of our trip as well. Unique rooms. Fun space overall.
Ellie, the receptionist, was AMAZING. We arrived at the hotel exhausted and frustrated due to getting lost and other reasons not involving the hotel. I was not very nice when we arrived and irritated about not finding the parking lot. Lovey, kind, and helpful Ellie took care of us. She went above and beyond to comfort us and make us comfortable. She even exited the hotel and personally took me to the parking lot!!! God bless you Ellie for a wonderful stay.

Check in was smooth. No lift but successful in lugging 30+kg. suitcase up & down 3 flights of stairs. Room was impeccably clean. Room safe was difficult to access due to its position on floor of closet and tendency to entrap tiny objects in door which forced me to call for help. This is a great hotel for location and comfort. I don't sleep well in hotels but these beds and pillows were fantastic! Multiple options to choose from. I slept great. Dozens of great eating options within 3 blocks of hotel. Needed a cab at 4:30 am for our getaway and they arranged it. Great breakfast every morning too!
