We stayed here to celebrate my husband’s 60th birthday, and this place is absolutely beautiful. The property is peaceful, scenic, and truly feels like a hidden gem. The only concern I had was that the website listed kayaking and lazy river tubing as available activities, but when we arrived, we were informed that they do not currently offer them. The location was beautiful and peaceful. We would definitely stay here again. While we had some problems at checkout (they couldn't run a credit card because the staff at the desk "didn't know how"-- we had to pay in cash). I'm assuming this was an anomaly, as the rest of our stay was very enjoyable. Rooms are large and clean, although not air-conditioned, which was fine. Excellent food and caring staff. Can't beat the location and view.

The grounds/rooms are gorgeous, very accommodating staff and fabulous birding! The meals were outstanding.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights at the end of June and it was spectacular. The food, service, activities, spa, and grounds exceeded our expectations. We were a part of the first group of rafters allowed into (and out of) the lodge following the torrential rains and at no time did we feel unsafe. This hotel was perfect while staying in Turrialba to go white river rafting on the river. Its walking distance to downtown and to the bus station (I arrived via bus from San Jose and walked to the hotel in minutes). The staff here is wonderful. Great breakfast, simple and clean rooms. This hotel is awesome and for an affordable price!

Would highly recommend this place. The owners just couldn't be nicer or more helpful. The cabins are bright, comfortable, and clean. The location is convenient to the Mirador de Ujarras and the Ruinas de Ujarras as well as multiple good restaurants. The citrus trees on the grounds attract lots of interesting birds. We saw at least 35 species from our porch. Hanging out with their adorable, super friendly Doberman was a big bonus for us.

Nice place, great owners, place to be if you want to go rafting

Beautiful, beautiful grounds and setting with so many birds and feeders right there and a beautiful mountain river flowing through. We saw the Quetzal's on four occasions. Exceptional buffet breakfasts, too!
